Your Neighborhood Needs You November 23rd!

Summit leadership is considering a proposal to modify the zoning for 25 Deforest Avenue (known as the "Bouras Properties") and surrounding properties to Gateway-1. What will this mean? 
  • Four story structures can be built on the site (one of the highest points in Summit) 
  • Maximum building coverage ratio can increase from 30% to 80% 
  • Maximum floor area ratio can increase from 75% (including parking structures) to 113.5% (excluding parking structures). 
The owner of 25 Deforest intends to build a four story parking garage for about 590 vehicles surrounded by 30 townhouses on the Bouras Properties parking lot if the zoning change is approved.

On November 23rd at 7:30pm in City Hall, the Summit Planning Board will again be discussing this proposal.  Being there in person, and encouraging your neighbors to be there as well, is the most important thing you can do now to let Summit leadership know you oppose this plan.  Please help get the word out!
